Neighbors in Need

Founded by USC students and born out of summer 2020 protests against racial injustice, Water Drop LA is a grassroots initiative that delivers bottled water to Los Angeles’ Skid Row and surrounding areas. In fall 2020, Madeline Horowitz went along on a “drop” to see the impact these students are having on a homeless community struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

SDA RETURNS TO IN-PERSON PERFORMANCES

In September 2021, the University of Southern California’s School of Dramatic Arts, or SDA, held its first in-person performance since the COVID-19 outbreak. Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves follows a competitive women’s high school soccer team, navigating the transition from adolescence to womanhood. FREE BUS RIDES IN LA

Did you know you can get a free ride in Los Angeles? If you take the bus in L.A. County, the rides are free and have been since the start of the pandemic. In September 2021, Madeline Horowitz got more information from Dave Sotero, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, about this initiative.
